Welcome!

Welcome to We Can Survive Cancer. I am a cancer (leukemia) survivor who has, over the years, counseled other cancer patients through their journeys. My upcoming book puts that experience to work in crafting a guide for others in their battles against cancer. One of the many things I discovered during the course of my cancer battle and since is that we, as patients or survivors -- or the ones who love them -- are actually a family. We are a community of friends in waiting. We recognize the value of time and are willing to share what we have with each other. That's what this blog is designed to do. In it I hope you will find both information and inspiration. I look forward to taking the journey with you.

Hi everyone.  I have to apologize for a couple of things.  First, the past couple of blog posts were kind of heavy.  Unfortunately, over the past few months, several people I knew died in an untimely fashion, and some very tragically.  Although I always try to see the blessing in each situation, needless to say […]

Grades, Not Numbers

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. once wrote that “The sound of a kiss is not so loud as that of a cannon, but its echo lasts a great deal longer.”  It is one of the most wonderful sounds in this regard.  But there are other sounds that reverberate notwithstanding that they are not loud at all, […]
