Resources

There are many websites and other easily accessible resources for obtaining further information on cancer treatment and management.  Some of the ones I find to be particularly informative and reliable include:

www.oncolink.upenn.edu

www.cancer.org (the website for the American Cancer Society)

www.cancer.net (the site for the American Society of Clinical Oncology)

www.caring4cancer.com

www.cancer.gov (the site for the National Cancer Institute)

There are also many books available that are instructive in connection with understanding and deciding on a treatment plan for various types of cancers.  Some of the ones I have found to be particularly helpful include:

M. Dollinger, et al., Everyone’s Guide to Cancer Therapy: How Cancer is Diagnosed, Treated and Managed Day to Day

D. Servan-Schreiber, Anti-Cancer: A New Way of Life

American Cancer Society, Complete Guide to Complementary & Alternative Cancer Therapies

Schorr, A. and Thomas, M., The Web-Savvy Patient: An Insider’s Guide to Navigating the Internet When Facing Medical Crisis
